Treatment for slasher film (Rupert, Cian, James)
Form- The film will be a live action 3D slasher horror film. Most shots within the film have movement to them and the camera normally follows the character the shot is focused on. There are also a few POV (point of view) shots that emphasize the horror by putting you in the eyes of the victim or the killer. The colour pallet is rather dull, grey and lifeless to further add an atmosphere of a more creepy and abandoned area.
Content and style- the style of the film will be live action with a lot of handheld camera shots to add the horror effect through the camera shots. The opening of the film will consist of the killer chasing someone with an axe through the woods and eventually killing him the camera then reveals that someone else saw the killer kill the person.
Potential position in the market – The film will be rather low in the market because it’s a student film and there is not a big market for student made slasher films.
Target audience- the target audience for the film will be people who enjoy horror and thriller movies that focus on a killer and that are a fan of the slasher sub genre of horror. Movies like Halloween, Friday the 13th, Scream and Psycho.
2 key scenes- 2 Key scenes from the movie are Jackson hides in a bush in the Forest and the killer walks right past him and when there is a shot of the blood dripping down the axe.
When Jackson hides in the bush the scene will be shot from many angles, one is a normal view of him there and another will be from above looking through the bush down at Jackson who is worried for his life.
The axe scene: For the axe scene we are going to drip fake blood over the axe and use focus to bring the blood into focus as it drips down off it.

Format- our film will be released online digitally were it can be streamed or downloaded online.
Running time- the start of the movie will be 5 minutes long and the entire movie will run for 1 hour 10 minutes

Synopsis - A boy has to escape a masked killer in a forest after he investigates a rumor about a person living in the woods after his family were burnt to death but instead finds a masked killer murdering people.
Character list- Jackson an 18-year-old guy who is a social outcast with no friends, The killer a large masked man patrolling an abandoned army base with an axe which he uses or a home.
For merchandise we could sell foam axes as that’s what the killer uses as his weapon of choice. We could also sell replicas of the mask the killer wears. T-shirts could also be sold with the killer on the
Story Board
Our release date will be around October because the movie being a horror movie will mean
that it will get a lot more viewings and advertisement because of Halloween and Halloween
is the biggest day for watching horror movies. So by releasing it in October the hype of
Halloween will make people want to watch the movie even more. By releasing it in October
it leaves us with quite a few months to make sure the movie is fully completed as well. The
editing will happen alongside the filming so that after one month of filming is done we can
edit that moth of filming while the other month is being filmed.
